We are happy to announce that we are making a source code release of the web application powering Origo Cloud under the name Origo Cloud Toolkit. The code is licensed under the Common Public Attribution License, Version 1.0 (CPAL v.1): https://opensource.org/licenses/cpal_1.0, which stipulates that attribution notices, logos and URL links in the user interface must be preserved at all times.
The toolkit is designed to run in a VM in any Origo OS installation. It will run on your Ubuntu laptop or in your data center, as long as you have installed Origo OS.
We have updated the Develop stack to automatically download and install the toolkit. This means that anyone running Origo OS can launch a cloud with the UI of Origo Cloud with a single click. We have made customization easy using includes.
For access to features like automatic installation of certificates from Let’s Encrypt, your Origo OS installation should be linked to the Origo Registry, giving it access to the infrastructure services provided by Origo, inluding a curated collection of stacks, DNS services, configuration backup, consolidated metering and user synchronization services. Origo is hosting and providing the infrastructure services for free for personal use within reasonable limits.
